Description
The Cable
LMR-400 is a 50-ohm coaxial cable that was originally made to replace lower quality coax cables such as the RG-8.
LMR-400 is distinguished from other antenna cables in the market for its low loss characteristics. It has the lowest signal-loss among its class and compared to most semi-rigid and hard-line cables. So its ideal for connecting your SAHO Enclosure to its antenna.
Still, cable rules still apply: the shorter the cable, the lower the loss.
The Connectors
The N connector (also, type-N connector) is a threaded, weatherproof, medium-size RF connector used to join coaxial cables.
Your SAHO Enclosure comes with a FEMALE type-N connector on top, so your cable should have one of its sides a MALE type-N connector.
Most Lora antennas have a MALE type-N connector, so you normally want a FEMALE to MALE type-N connector cable.
If your antenna has a FEMALE type-N connector, you should select the MALE to MALE type-N connector cable.
Notes:
Remember that the SAHO Enclosure has a big battery inside, so the entire enclosure will be a heavy toll on any mounting pole. If you have a weaker mounting pole, it is advisable that the Enclosure stays lower on the pole, and the antenna stays on the top. Choose your cable size accordingly.
